Lee’s Summit and the surrounding Jackson County area is home to some of the best outdoor trails, lakes and parks. Here are some of our favorite spots to explore:
Home to both Blue Springs Lake and Lake Jacomo, Fleming Park is the largest of Jackson County Parks. It is the perfect place to have fun in, on or even above the water. Located at 22807 Woods Chapel Road.
The park is used as a nature reserve. It has a variety of cover and terrain. It is popular with hikers, horse back riders and orienteering enthusiasts. Located on E. Old Highway 40 in Grain Valley.
Winterset Nature Area
This 10.2 acre park is a natural area with a .6 mile wood chip trail that meanders through different types of trees and wildflowers, wood bridges and waterfalls. Anytime of year you are sure to see some local wildlife and some amazing examples of Missouri native flowers.
Lea McKeighan Park
As one the most loved parks in the area, Lea McKeighan Park boasts low ropes course, playgrounds, musical instruments, speedway zip line, splash pad, pickleball courts, sand volleyball court, multipurpose fields and a skate park. Located at 120 NE Chipman Road.
