Our March issue is centered around the home—In other words, all of my favorite things. Due to my lifelong love of home and design, I felt it was the perfect issue to introduce myself to you as the publisher of Lee’s Summit Lifestyle. As a publisher, I am typically behind the scenes in the magazine, but I’m out and active in our wonderful community.
Lee’s Summit has been my home, along with my husband and my three teenage girls, for 28 years. We have built three homes, rehabbed eight homes, shown and sold hundreds of homes with our real estate careers, and even staged numerous homes. My passion for decorating, designing, fixing and changing is evident in our personal homes and even more evident in my Pinterest account.
I have been fascinated with the home since I was very young, and it is a passion that continues to grow. The design element is something I have always loved, but it is what my home is filled with that has truly mattered the most—our memories, traditions, the babies, our little dog. I have dreamed of filling a house with that just as much as filling it with decor.
The icing on the cake for my home is the community in which it sits. Lee’s Summit is warm and gives me such feelings of comfort. We have experienced so much growth in our community over the 28 years I have been here, but what has remained the same is the humble, kind and helpful presence of our neighbors.
I look forward to all of our future growth of businesses and homes alike and would encourage you to get out to see the new homes featured in the Spring Parade of Homes for inspiration as we have done for fun over the years. Sometimes I am inspired to redecorate and clean up, and other times to make a move. It is always refreshing and exciting. For our home issue, we are sharing some beautiful spaces in Lee’s Summit. If you enjoy looking at interiors and gathering inspiration from what others are doing, I hope you can find something that inspires you here.
From our home to yours.
