Jarrod and Kristin Gravatt See a Need for a Quality, Local Trash Hauler, Form Gravatt Waste Solutions

Jarrod and Kristin Gravatt had just one goal—build a better trash service in Lee’s Summit.

After months of reports of trash companies selling to larger, corporate entities and residential and commercial customers left with questions on customer service, the Gravatts did the unthinkable in January 2017. They bought a trash truck and started a new business.

“A lot of complaints were being made about the trash haulers in town,” Jarrod, who works at Baker Distributing and is active in many areas of Lee’s Summit, says. “Every week, there were more and more complaints during public comments and I would hear it on all media outlets. I saw a huge opportunity and a need for a quality, customer service-oriented, local trash hauler in Lee’s Summit.”

The Gravatts are both 2002 graduates of Lee’s Summit North and chose Lee’s Summit to raise their two children, Jordan and Kori.

“From the bottom of my heart, I’m just trying to do what is best for my community,” Jarrod says. “I want to create jobs and give back to the community through charities, city events, youth sports and do my part to be a positive role model by promoting healthy lifestyles, recycling habits and keeping the streets safe and clean. Having a local trash hauler will help strengthen our local economy. I want to continue to make Lee’s Summit a great community, and show people the value of doing business with a local trash hauler and local small business in general.”

GWS is a full-service hauler, accepting trash, yard waste year-round and recyclable material. Gravatt Waste Solutions can be found online at GravattWasteSolutions.com and on Facebook.
