The new Coffee Cove Company is a place where you can enjoy a great cup of coffee, hot tea and many other beverages along with a cozy and nautical atmosphere and environment. The shop is situated at the corner of Colbern Road near Gate 2, at 9502 Main Entrance Drive.
“As a retired man, I love having a reason to walk and get my exercise every morning and treat myself to a sweet hot beverage and pastry with Coffee Cove as my finish line,” says Mike, a local resident of Lake Lotawana.
Kimberly Waggoner, owner says, “We appreciate all the love and support from our locals and the fact that they support their small businesses. We want to have all new and old customers feel that same love and care as soon as they walk in our door. And if we have a spot to hang fliers and display their art work to sell, I want to help them out just as much as they are helping me by bringing friends and family in my shop.”
Waggoner is a wife and mother of two beautiful daughters. Her husband, Andrew Waggoner, created the name and logo of her shop and tends to be a big part of her marketing by creating commercials and flyers to help promote Coffee Cove.
Their daughters, Sarah Jane and Norah Jane, can often be seen in the shop helping their mother out with small projects. Waggoner’s goal is to show that this a family friendly shop, and all children are welcome with their moms while they enjoy a beverage and hang out with other mom friends.
“We also want to show support for hard working students who need a place that gives them fast and free wifi and also to wind down from studying all day,” says Waggoner.
The shop serves pastries, muffins and homemade pop tarts delivered fresh daily from Scratch Bakery in Kansas City. They serve homemade biscuits and gravy on Saturdays and are open Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Sundays 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
