The Step Up for Down 
Syndrome Walk

The Step Up Walk will take place at the Kansas Speedway on Saturday, October 1st. The walk provides the entire community the opportunity to celebrate individuals with Down syndrome and their families.  Kansas City is proud to be home to the largest walk in the nation! In 2015, 360 teams consisting of 10,500+ participants raised over $513,000.  The fundraising goal for 2016 is $572,000. Entertainment for all ages including; pony rides, moon walks, inflatable obstacle courses, clowns, face painting and tattoos, carnival games, mechanical rides, stilt walkers, bungee pods and more! The event is 11a to 3pm.  Guests will line up to walk the one mile family friendly walk at 1:45.  Lunch is served 11 to 1, KFC chicken, hotdogs, fruit, chips, Coca Cola drinks. All money raised goes to the Down Syndrome Guild of Greater Kansas City.  Proceeds fund a variety of programs and services to benefit people with Down syndrome and their families.  All money raised stays in Kansas City! Registration $25.00 (age 13+), $15.00 (ages 3-12) all registered guests receive Step Up Walk t-shirt.

Lee’s Summit Symphony launches

Every year the Symphony entertains thousands including school aged children.
