228 SW Main Street, Lee’s Summit

Modeling these lovely dresses are freshman Meah Wilburn, junior Sydney Belt, Salem Dagne, a junior exchange student from Ethiopia staying with the Belts, all students at Lee’s Summit High School; and Hannah Motley, a junior at Blue Valley North.

You can’t help but smile when you walk into this brightly lit corner store. And it’s not unusual for shoppers to stop and smile as they look up at the many display windows that wrap around the building.

Wedding Expressions by Geri has been serving the community and surrounding areas for four years. Located in historic downtown Lee’s Summit, inside a building with more history and architectural charm than you’d ever expect in a bridal boutique, they are pleased to share impressively affordable yet elegant gowns for all occasions. The attentive staff members seem to have a gift for being able to find dresses that will flatter the buyer from the many, many racks with effortless ease.

Don’t be fooled by the name. They aren’t all about weddings. Whether you’re shopping for prom or a sorority formal, for a walk down the aisle or for your bridesmaids, for the mother of the bride or the groom, trust me when I tell you that this is your one-stop dress destination. Oh, and they haven’t forgotten the men! Another element of their full-service offerings includes tuxedo rentals for gentlemen of all ages and stages.

Our focus on this sunny Saturday outing was to see what is popular in prom attire. Our models enjoyed trying on dress after dress as several moms looked around the shop and were amazed by the approachable prices on all of the dresses.

Appointments are not required, but are suggested so the best possible service can be provided. No one wants to feel rushed while they are enjoying the opportunity to feel like a princess!
