Rejuvenate Mind-Body Wellness Center: Transforming Lives through Health and Wellness

Rejuvenate: to invigorate, renew, restore. Missouri springtime brings this definition to life as the brown and gray winter world emerges into a brightly colored spring party. What seemed static and lifeless comes alive.

The folks at Rejuvenate Mind-Body Wellness Center help enliven people. They envision health and wellness transformation for their patrons: from depression to joy, stressed to peaceful, being overweight to becoming healthier, suffering chronic pain to living pain free.

The doctors at this integrated health center believe the path is a proactive, unified approach. And, they built a business on that philosophy. The four owners each have an area of specialty they bring to the table: Scott Symes, Psy.D., Adam Fellows, Psy.D. and Tiffany Fellows, Psy.D. are psychologists; Joe Symes, D.C., is a chiropractor. Rejuvenate’s services
include psychology, chiropractic, massage therapy, nutrition, pilates, yoga and other fitness classes.

Their combination of services under one roof allows them to tailor convenient plans for healing and well-being, bringing new life and energy to their patients. They have witnessed this change and know their method works.

“We take a well-rounded view of our clients, not just focus on brokenness,” says Scott. “I have watched people blossom and grow as human beings when they learn to manage health-sabotaging thoughts.”

Chiropractic and psychology work hand in hand, explains Joe. “True wellness encompasses the entire person,” he says. “We believe the body is a system. If you work on the mind but not the body, or vice versa, you’re only treating half the system.” The healing experience begins at the door. The “medical chic” environment is professional but not sterile; it feels like a spa.

“We wanted to create a place that feels inviting, earthy and calming,” says Tiffany. The health strategy works by identifying seeds of the mind-body connection to a wellness issue, Scott explains.

“For example, for those seeking help with weight loss, our treatment is psychologically driven because motivation and habits relate to thoughts and experiences,” he says. “We discover why overeating occurs, why exercise plans don’t stick and deal with that.”

For a client struggling with depression, the psychologists may recommend integrating exercise and nutrition. Rather than having to find resources to make that happen, clients can utilize one location rather than have to go to different places, if they choose.

The doctors say they have seen major improvements with whole person treatment. Client Donna L. says her “life changed completely” after coming to Rejuvenate. During psychology appointments, the doctor referred her to chiropractic care for severe chronic back pain. She had been to four orthopedic surgeons for injections.

“After only two and a half months working with chiropractor Joe Symes, he did what spinal specialists couldn’t do for years,” Donna says.

The combined services are optimal, but optional. They also have many clients who choose only one of their services.

A Business Built on Friendship The partners are actually four long-time friends who dreamed of going into practice together for over a decade. The friendships are the unique fabric of the business. How they relate, collaborate, problem solve and strategize is not just a business philosophy, it’s how they live.

“We employ this wellness idea with one another and our families,” explains Scott. “We support one another to be proactive not reactive.” Adam explains the common value system they shared.

“We are from a small town and family is really important to us. Our families valued authenticity, sincerity, and accepting people for who they are.” Small town values carry over well with their patients.

“They relate to us really well, see us as friends. We like to spend time with our patients,” he says.

Rejuvenates accepts most insurance, offers service packages and payment plans to stay affordable. “Our services encompass everything someone needs to be well and become a new person in a lot of ways,” Adam says. “Making one small change can create a ripple effect in your entire life.”
